Learning Solutions 2013 Day #1

Wow, what a day--I'm both exhausted and ecstatic!  So much information today from the keynotes, sessions, showcases, and conversations.  It's so cool to meet all these people that share my passion for e-learning and Articulate!

Here's a quick recap of my day...

...our morning buzz with Connie Malamed on creativity was a great discussion.  Lots of creativity-boosting ideas were suggested:  working with with some background noise, searching for related images, doing thumbnail sketches and storyboards, making mindmaps, and doing word associations.  Alsodiscussed were some pretty awesome resources.

...the morning's keynote, Robert Ballard, discussed exploring the role of technology in peak performance, taking us on a wild ride of technological discoveries in oceanography.

...at one of the Stages, Mike Enders of Articulate demonstrated several cool ways to add video into Storyline.  For example, inserting video into a marker or lightbox slide.

...Dr. John DiMarco's presentation regarding interface design principles included tons of good information, such as some basic design principles of heirarchy, chunking, and simplicity.

...Yukon Learning's Ron Price entranced us with yet another excellent session, this time on the game capabilities of Storyline:  what's possible and how easy it is to accomplish using Storyline.  Great session and super samples provided as a take-away!

...Aaron Dignan, author of Game Frame, spoke about the mechanics of games and how/why they can/should be used in learning and work.  This might be a book work taking a look at!  Super presentation.

All in all, a super day.  Thank you eLearning Guild!

Now for some rest...tomorrow's another day...
